Today was a bit of a boring one for training so I thought I’d write up a quick review on my new shoes.
For the past eight years, I’ve been cycling in my trusty S-Works 6 shoes. They were my constant companions on countless rides, races, and adventures. However, I recently discovered that I had been wearing the wrong size all along—a size 37. It wasn’t until earlier this year that I stumbled upon a pair of black S-Works 6 shoes in a size 38 at an unbeatable price. The moment I slipped them on, I realized what I’d been missing: the perfect fit.

The size 38 shoes fit me so much better, offering comfort and support that I hadn’t experienced before. Yet, as much as I appreciated the improved fit, I found myself missing my white shoes and helmet combo. Not only did the white gear add a sleek aesthetic to my cycling ensemble, but it also played a crucial role in visibility and comfort during the summer months. Lighter-colored helmets and shoes reflect sunlight more effectively, helping to keep you cooler and more visible on the road.

Determined to reunite with my favorite color scheme, I began searching for a new pair of white cycling shoes. That’s when I came across the S-Works Torch. They were everything I was looking for: the latest technology, the sleek white design, and, to my delight, they were on sale—$100 off! I decided to treat myself, considering it a birthday and Christmas gift from my husband. He had seemed a bit unenthusiastic about gift shopping, so I thought I’d make it easier for both of us. When I mentioned my purchase to him, he surprised me by revealing that he had already gotten me presents. It was a wonderful surprise that warmed my heart. So, the shoes became a special gift to myself, let’s face it, I deserve it.
I must admit, I was initially concerned about the fit. The S-Works Torch is known for its wider forefoot, and having particularly narrow feet, I worried they might be too roomy. However, the moment I tried them on, all my concerns vanished. Despite the wider design, they felt unbelievably comfortable and secure. The shoe’s construction seems to wrap around my foot perfectly, providing support where I need it without any unnecessary pressure points. The power transfer is fantastic, making each pedal stroke feel efficient and smooth. It’s amazing how a well-designed shoe can enhance your overall cycling experience. The improved comfort and performance have not only made my rides more enjoyable but have also boosted my confidence on the bike.

Switching to the S-Works Torch has been a game-changer. Not only do they provide the comfort and performance I need, but they also bring back my beloved white aesthetic. I feel more visible on the road, cooler under the sun, and, quite frankly, more stylish. Fun fact: white helmets can actually keep you cooler by reflecting sunlight, which is especially beneficial during those hot summer rides.
